I’m running to be your county commissioner in District 6 because I believe public safety starts with family stability.
In the American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS/Black) community, 49.2% of their families pay more than 30% of their income for housing. With less than 25% owning the homes they live in. This crisis contributes to family instability and public safety across Ramsey County and especially in district 6.
I will fight to repeal policies that separate families due to background checks. I will push to make sure the State on MN goals of TANF funding are followed in all of its principals for all parents.
I’m running to be your change agent county commissioner in district 6. I believe family is the cornerstone of successful and safe communities. We have too many opportunities for lasting change for me to sit on the sidelines and watch disparities grow in low-income households. As a member of the American Descendants of Slavery ADOS (Black/African American) community, I know these disparities all too well.
As your county commissioner, I’m dedicated to increasing family stability, expanding public housing to include homeownership bridging more families into homeownership, supporting families in need before crisis, separation, and preserving family dignity.
We can and will do better.
Public safety is directly connected to family stability. The MN Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (MN TANF) has a great framework to build upon. I’m running to expand innovative community and data policies that restores the right to human dignity to our residents. I will push to make sure the State on MN goals of TANF funding are followed in all itsprincipals for all parents. It’s time to step away from policies that has failed families due to cultural and racist biases. Co-create collaborative policies with sheriff’s department, community residents, and community leadership.
ADOS Reparative Justice
Ramsey County has begun to shed light on the critical condition of the American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS/Black) community and I intend to carry on and expand ADOS reparative justice initiatives and policies within the Ramsey County and district 6.
